Volunteers pack a record number of boxes for the regional food drive
Neighbors turned out in force for the region's largest single-day food drive to date.

Volunteers from across the Wachusett region filled a community hall this month for the largest single-day food drive the area has hosted, packing boxes destined for pantries in a half-dozen towns.
Organizers credited local businesses, faith communities and school groups for donations that arrived steadily throughout the weekend, and said the effort will help stock shelves through the toughest stretch of winter.
Pantry coordinators say demand has climbed year over year, making recurring monthly donations — not just holiday drives — the most useful way for residents to help.
